Meet the Trainer
Jamie Nakama

Jamie has been a yoga practitioner since 2005 and started teaching yoga in 2015. She completed her 200-hour teacher training in hatha and vinyasa styles of yoga with the World Yoga Alliance in Kathmandu, Nepal. She has over 200 additional hours of training in hot yoga styles, restorative yoga, yoga philosophy, and yoga anatomy. Jamie is interested in integrating the modern scientific understanding of the human body and mind with the ancient yogic practices, allowing for a more therapeutic application of yoga to promote health and well-being on both physical and mental levels. With her innate gift for teaching and deep passion for making yoga accessible for everyone, Jamie’s classes are inclusive and welcoming for all bodies. She is also an anthropology professor, a professional dancer, and capoeira instructor.
